Sale Guidelines:

  • Selling price will include;
    • registration transfer fees (paid by seller).
    • individual farm guarantees as offered by seller of animal.
  • It is the buyer's responsibility to contact the seller of the sale animal prior to the sale to confirm any individual farm guarantees and financing terms if applicable.
  • Sale animals will sell in the same order as they are listed in the website and in the show catalogue.
  • Alpacas will be Veterinary inspected on November 20th between 1pm-5pm for health and congenital disqualifiers as per CLAA breed standard and checked for accurate microchip reading.
  • Check in time for sale animals will be between 9am - 1pm on Friday, November 20th
  • Sale animals will be stalled in the show hall and paraded during the futurity halter show. There will be one sale animal per stall.
  • The seller of the animal is responsible for the care and feeding of their animals while on the sale grounds.
  • The seller or their designated representative will be responsible to handle and show the animal during the parades and the sale.

Terms & Conditions:


  1. It is clearly understood that Alpaca Canada is acting only as an intermediary between buyer and consignor and is not responsible for any failure by either party to live up to its obligations. Alpaca Canada assumes no responsibility, liability, obligation, duty, either singular or plural and make no warranties as to title, or quality including but not limited to health, blemishes, defects, soundness, or any other conditions of entry, and makes no other kind of warranty whatsoever.
  2. Neither the Auctioneer, Alpaca Canada, nor any of their representatives make any representation or warranties whatsoever with respect to the sale alpacas. All representations contained herein are made by the seller only.
  3. The laws of the Province of Ontario will govern the sale and all transactions between the Buyer and the Seller.
  4. The highest bidder is to be the buyer and if any dispute arises between two or more bidders, the alpaca in dispute shall immediately be put up again for advance bids. If there is no advance, the alpaca shall go to the person whom the auctioneer recognized as having the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision shall be final. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bidding will be carried out in Canadian Dollars.
  5. All information listed in the "Consignment Form" and description for the sale catalogue is solely supplied by the seller. Alpaca Canada is not responsible for the accuracy and validity of said information.
  6. At the completion of the Select Sale, the buyer shall sign the Agreement of Sale and Purchase. Title passes when a buyer signs the agreement at which time all risk and responsibility for the alpaca passes to the buyer.
  7. All Alpacas will have been veterinary inspected. Insurance will be the responsibility of the buyer immediately upon signing of the sale and purchase agreement on the day of the Select Sale.
  8. Payment is due at the completion of the sale either in full or as a down payment (as per sellers financing plan). Payment is to be by cash or cheque payable to seller. Payment must be submitted to Alpaca Canada's sale clerk immediately on completion of the Select Sale proceedings.
  9. If any person shall purchase a lot and not pay for it as described above, the Auctioneer and/or the Seller shall have the right to resell the lot or, at their option, bring action for specific performance, in which event the buyer agrees to pay all costs of such suit and reasonable attorney's fees. In the event of resale, the defaulting Buyer agrees to pay all cost of resale plus price deficiency.
  10. Every effort has been made to assure correctness of the catalogue, however Alpaca Canada is not responsible for errors or omissions. Any known corrections shall be announced at the sale.
  11. Statements made from the Auctioneer's Box shall take precedence over any and all statements made in the catalogue.
  12. Any person attending the auction does so at their own risk and no liability, duties, obligations, and/or responsibilities shall be imposed upon Alpaca Canada, Auctioneer or their representatives for any accident, injury, mishap, theft, damage, and/or any other harm regardless of the source of imposition.
  13. The seller warrants that their alpaca is free from any encumbrances whatsoever.
  14. Alpaca Canada at their discretion reserves the right to withdraw any alpaca from the sale without liability to anyone.
  15. The seller will withhold all registration papers until all cheques clear the bank. At such time they, along with the transfer fees will be sent to the appropriate registries. Seller must pay all transfer fees.
  16. It is the buyer’s responsibility to have the purchased animal removed from the sale site by 11am following the day of the Select Sale.
  17. Foreign buyers must contact the seller of sale animal of interest to understand export and quarantine requirements and arrangements prior to Select Sale.
  18. Buyers planning to board their purchases after the Select Sale must make prior arrangements with seller or other parties of their choice.
