Futurity: Futurity Stud Auction
Thank you for participating in the 2009 Futurity Stud Auction. 44 studs
were subscribed to allow their age eligible progeny to enter the AC Futurity &
Select Sale 2009.
General Information
Any Alpaca Canada member in good standing may nominate any of their CLAA registered studs to be included in the Futurity On-line Stud Service Auction. All nominated studs that receive a minimum bid of $1000.00 by the close of the On-Line Auction become subscribed studs. If the minimum bid is not achieved then the stud owner may subscribe their stud themselves by paying $1000.00 plus GST/stud within 7 days of the auction closing.
All winning bids are subject to GST and payable within 7 days of auction
closing. When making payment to Alpaca Canada, please add an additional 5% to
your winning bid. Electronic invoices will be issued to all successful bidders
who have not already paid. Payment may be made via credit card; please provide
your credit card information to Carolyn
at the AC office by calling (403) 250-2171 or toll-free 1.877.755.7222.All progeny of the 2009 subscribed studs from 6 months to 36 months of age as of November 21, 2009 become eligible for the 2009 Futurity (i.e. born from Nov 22, 2006 to May 21, 2009).
Also, a progeny resulting from this year’s (2009) purchased Futurity Stud Auction breeding has a one-time eligibility to be shown in the next futurity. This means that the resulting progeny can be shown as a juvenile in 2010 (if minimum age requirement is met at the date of the futurity) or as a yearling in 2011. This rule does not apply if stud subscription resulted in stud owner paying the $1000 him/herself.
All breeding must take place in 2009. Should the purchaser, in agreement with the stud owner, choose to defer the breeding to 2009 or beyond, the resulting offspring will not be automatically Futurity eligible and the stud owner is under no obligation to reimburse the high bidder if the breeding is not successful.
The Auction
The auction will begin February 9 through to February 15th closing at 11:00 PM, EST. The website will provide information and a picture of each of the nominated studs. Bids start at $950. Bids are increased by $50 increments. Nominated Studs must receive a minimum bid of $1000 to become a subscribed stud. Payment including 5% GST is required within 7 days of auction closing. Subscribed studs will be listed in the Sale Catalogue and featured with a slide show of studs on a giant 9’x 8’ screen during banquet
Alpaca Canada does not endorse or guarantee any of the stud services offered
herein. Once the purchaser has received confirmation of their purchase of a stud
service, Alpaca Canada is absolved of all responsibility in the breeding. All
further arrangements must be between the buyer and the donor of the stud
service.
