Futurity: Overview

Thank you to all participants in the 2009 Alpaca Canada Futurity & Select Sale. All 22 quality alpacas in the Select Sale sold for a total of $98,300. 108 alpacas entered the futurity and competed for the honour of Supreme Champion and the coveted AC FSS Sire's Cup.

Amber Autumn Felicia is the 2009 ACFSS Supreme Champion. Her sire, RFA Turk, owned by Amber Autumn Alpacas received the prestigious ACFSS Sire's Cup.

Alpaca Canada invites all breeders to participate in this exciting new event to showcase the breeding power of their studs and to take advantage to sell or acquire quality Canadian alpacas.

The Futurity and Select Sale offers:

1. Prize money to be awarded to winning progeny of subscribed studs
2. Award of prestigious Alpaca Canada Sire's Cup
3. Excellent stud promotion through showcasing of progeny
4. Opportunity to sell/acquire quality alpacas

The Futurity features only offspring of successfully subscribed studs.

The Futurity is preceded by the Futurity Stud Nomination starting Feb 1 – 14, 2010 and the online Stud Service Auction on Feb 19-28, 2010 where nominated studs must receive a minimum bid of $1000 to become a subscribed stud for the Futurity thus gaining eligibility for their offspring to enter the 2010 futurity as long as they are between 6 – 36months old on the date of futurity.

If nominated studs do not receive the minimum bid of $1000, the owners may pay this fee themselves to achieve eligibility to show the studs' offspring. Once a stud is successfully subscribed (received minimum $1000 bid) any offspring of this stud can enter the futurity as long as offspring is between 6 – 36 months old on the show date.
